Terms of Use
Last updated 7 September 2026
The short version. Look after your account, don't abuse the service, and remember that the prices shown are estimates rather than valuations. Your photos and your collection stay yours. Credits are bought through Apple and aren't refundable by us, and Pro renews until you cancel it in your Apple settings. Virtual Binder isn't affiliated with Pokémon, Nintendo, Konami, Bandai, Wizards of the Coast or any other card publisher.
1. Agreeing to these terms
Virtual Binder is made by Sotomi Labs, which is not yet a registered company — so the party to this agreement is David Utomo, based in Indonesia ("we", "us"). These terms cover the app and this website. By making an account or using the app, you accept them.
You need to be at least 13. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms with you.
Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your data and forms part of this agreement.
2. Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Give us an email address that reaches you, or you won't be able to recover the account if you lose access.
One account per person. Don't sell, share or transfer it.
Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got into your account.
3. How you may use the app
Virtual Binder is for cataloguing your own trading card collection. Please don't:
- break the law with it, or use it to infringe anyone's rights;
- upload photos you have no right to use, or anything obscene, hateful, harassing or otherwise inappropriate;
- try to break, overload or work around the service — including scraping it, hammering the API, or getting past rate limits, payment checks or Pro gates;
- take our card catalogue, prices or images out of the app for your own product or dataset;
- reverse-engineer the app or its models, except where the law says you may despite this clause;
- resell access, or run a business off the back of it, without asking us first.
Some features cost real money to run, so we may apply fair limits on how often they can be used.
4. Your photos and your collection
Your photos stay yours. Making an account doesn't give us ownership of anything you put in it.
You do give us the narrow permission we need to actually run the app: to store, copy, resize and display your photos back to you, and — only when you use a feature that requires it, like Bring to life or sharing a page — to process them or show them to the people you share with. That permission exists solely to operate the service for you, ends when you delete the content or your account, and does not let us publish, sell, license or train models on your photos.
You're responsible for having the right to upload what you upload. If you share a page, you're choosing to make that image public, and we can't unshare it from whoever has already seen it.
5. Credits, Pro and payment
Some features are paid for with credits, and some are included with a Pro subscription. Current prices are always shown in the app before you buy.
Buying
All purchases go through Apple's In-App Purchase system, under Apple's own terms. We never see or handle your payment details.
Credits
- Credits are a limited licence to use paid features — not money, not property, and they have no cash value.
- They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred between accounts, or refunded by us once spent.
- Credits included with Pro are an allowance for that period and don't roll over. Credits you buy outright don't expire while your account exists.
- Deleting your account forfeits any unused credits.
Pro subscriptions
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you turn it off at least 24 hours beforehand.
- Your Apple account is charged when the renewal is confirmed.
- Manage or cancel it in your Apple settings — Settings → your name → Subscriptions. We can't cancel it for you, and deleting the app doesn't stop it.
- Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep Pro until the period you've paid for ends.
Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are Apple's to give — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Nothing here removes any refund or cancellation right you have under consumer law where you live.
Price changes
We may change prices. A change never affects credits you've already bought, and for a subscription we'll tell you in advance and you'll be able to cancel before it applies.
6. Card prices are estimates
Do not rely on these figures for anything that matters. Prices come from third-party sources, can be stale, wrong or missing entirely, and vary by condition, printing, grading and where you're selling. They are a rough guide for your own reference — not an appraisal, not a valuation, not investment or financial advice, and not an offer to buy or sell anything.
Please get a professional valuation before insuring, buying or selling on the strength of a number. We aren't liable for decisions made on these estimates.
The same goes for card recognition: it's usually right, but it's a prediction, and you should check it against the card in your hand. That's why you can always correct a match.
7. Card names, images and trademarks
Card names, images, set names, logos and game names belong to their respective publishers and rights holders. They're used here to let you identify and catalogue cards you own — nothing more.
Virtual Binder is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Creatures, GAME FREAK, Konami, Bandai, Bushiroad, Wizards of the Coast, Hasbro, Riot Games, or any other publisher whose cards appear in the catalogue.
The app itself — its code, design, name and logo — belongs to us. Catalogue data is licensed from or collected from public sources, and is provided for use inside the app only.
If you're a rights holder with a concern about anything in the catalogue, please write to [email protected] and we'll deal with it promptly.
8. Availability
We can't promise the app will always be available. It may be down for maintenance, or because something upstream broke. Features may change or be withdrawn — if we remove one you paid for, we'll deal with you fairly.
The app relies on your device and connection, and on services we don't control. It is provided "as is", without warranties beyond those the law gives you and which can't be excluded.
Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to lose. Our backups exist to recover the service, not to serve as your records.
9. Liability
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit — and if you're a consumer, your statutory rights stand whatever this section says.
Beyond that, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or lost data or collection records; and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or USD 50 if that's greater.
10. Ending things
You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app — Account → Delete account. Remember to cancel a Pro subscription in your Apple settings separately.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is being used unlawfully, or is damaging the service for other people. Except where something serious or unlawful is happening, we'll warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account without good reason, we'll refund unused credits and any unused subscription time.
